Solar thermal systems use thermal energy from the sun which is converted into electricity by means of solar collector panels and an integrated ORC process. The residual heat can be further used to heat buildings and hot water.

This system has the advantage of being completely independent of silicon, which, although only scarcely available, is used in great quantities for the production of photovoltaic arrays.

ALENKO has been specializing in solar thermal systems for the past few years and is currently working on several large-scale projects in Germany.

ALENKO has also integrated its ORC processes into systems generating electricity from biomass.
